The qualified candidate will research, write, and coordinate articles relating to military healthcare for publication as news releases or articles. Will conduct interviews with senior leaders and subject matter experts from across the Military Health System. Must be a strong writer, proficient in news writing, web writing, and editing. Must have a good "news sense" and be able to write and manage high visibility writing assignments. Successful candidate will have the ability to meet tight deadlines, juggle multiple assignments simultaneously, and produce minimum of three, 500-600-word stories per month. Must be able to interact with high level government executives and military leadership with ease. Candidate should have knowledge of AP style and experience with medical/healthcare writing. Assist epidemiology staff in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting patient data for studies and publications. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college/university. Current R.N. license in the state of California. Minimum 5 years of experience in acute care setting. Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Word and Excel for data entry and spreadsheet work. Attention to detail a necessity.
