Axiom Awarded Navy SeaPort-e IDIQ Contract
February 21, 2014
Axiom Resource Management, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a new contract to provide a broad range of program management support to federal government clients. Awarded by the Naval Sea Systems Command, the Navy SeaPort-e contract is a multi-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) vehicle that will be active through the spring of 2019. It is authorized to award task orders with an aggregate value of slightly less than 8 billion dollars.
ID/IQ contracts streamline the process through which government agencies announce their need for goods and services and through which companies compete for government business. Companies submit proposals that demonstrate core competency in specific fields of expertise. These proposals document each firm's recent history of success providing these goods and services to similar clients. Proposals must also confirm that the company is in solid financial footing and employs accounting and financial reporting systems that meet government standards.
Contracting specialists carefully review these proposals and award an ID/IQ contract to those companies that meet these standards and that compares favorably to competing bidders. Thereafter, individual "task orders" are released for specific projects, and only companies awarded an ID/IQ can compete for these smaller, shorter-term task order contracts.
"This is great news for Axiom," said managing partner Douglas Peardon. "Many federal agencies we support currently rely on this streamlined contracting vehicle to connect with the leading program management firms in the business, including Axiom Resource Management." Any federal agency that enters into an interagency agreement with the Navy's Sea Systems Command can make use of this contract. The SeaPort-e award expands the number of agencies with program management requirements to which Axiom can now respond quickly and economically.
