Axiom Receives Patriot Award from Fisher House Foundation
December 1, 2014
Axiom Resource Management, Inc. proudly received the Patriot Award on Wednesday, November 12 from the Fisher House Foundation. The Foundation provides a range of support services to the families of U.S. Armed Forces military personnel wounded in combat, and Fisher Houses offer free lodging for families caring for wounded warriors undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
The award was presented at Axiom's eleventh annual golf tournament in support of Fisher House. Mr. Derek Donovan, Vice President of Programs and Community Relations, Fisher House Foundation, presented the award to Axiom managing partners Kathy Williamson and Kevin Riley (managing partner Doug Peardon was away on travel). Mr. Donovan praised Axiom for the depth and longevity of their dedication to wounded service members and their families. “Having family members close by during rehabilitation is key to recovery. Your firm's continued support to the Foundation helps make this happen.”
Axiom raised $37,400 at this year's tournament at Westfields Golf Club to fund Fisher House operations, bringing the cumulative total raised in eleven years to $312,500. “We at Axiom are so proud to receive the Patriot Award. It is a testament to the teamwork and commitment to our community exemplified by the men and women of Axiom,” declared Mr. Riley.
Fisher House Foundation operates more than 60 homes on the grounds of military and veterans' hospitals, providing housing at no charge to families visiting ill or injured military personnel. It finances airfare for families that must travel great distances to visit recovering patients. They also provide scholarship support for the children of critically wounded warriors. To date, more than 220,000 families have benefited from Fisher House Foundation operations.
