Axiom Wins $15 Million Communication & Marketing Contract
November 14, 2002
Falls Church, Virginia - Axiom Resource Management, Inc. announced the award of a new 5-year, $15 million contract to provide management and creative support to the communications and customer service directorate (C&CS) of TRICARE, the Defense Department healthcare program supporting 8.7 million military personnel, retirees, and eligible family members.
TRICARE is one of the world's largest healthcare programs. Effective communications is critical to its success, especially as Congress has recently enacted significant enhancements of the TRICARE benefit, particularly for beneficiaries over age 65. Every new benefit, and every change in program procedures, pose challenges to customer service.
"C&CS has an exceptionally sensitive mission," said Doug Peardon, Axiom executive vice president and chief operating officer. "Beneficiaries look to the directorate for clear information, simple explanations, and reliable solutions to problems. Congressional oversight staff look to it to ensure that the local constituents are actually getting the finest customer service available. Axiom is privileged to be selected once again to provide the directorate with marketing, creative talent, and program support."
Axiom has staffed the directorate with public affairs specialists, writers, graphic artists, editors, Web designers, and program managers since 1998, and the current Axiom team is the principal provider of the directorate's creative talent and program management expertise.
That team is headed by Axiom Technical Manager Gail Amare. "Our mission is to help C&CS make TRICARE the most successful healthcare program available, bar none," said Amare. "By awarding this contract to Axiom again," she continued, "TRICARE is saying we're succeeding."
In addition to handling all aspects of customer service, C&CS leads the annual world-wide TRICARE conference, prepares and publishes the annual Stakeholders' Report, and maintains ongoing communications with beneficiary groups such as the Military Officers Association of America, the National Military Family Association, and the National Association for Uniformed Services.
Axiom Resource Management, Inc. is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia with branch offices in Alaska, California, Colorado, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
