We are seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to support ongoing Integrative Medicine efforts to support the Military Healthcare System in Las Vegas, NV.

Successful Candidate will:

• Provide integrative medicine therapies to patients suffering from various ailments, connected to either the body or the mind in accordance with established policies, procedures, research protocols, and guidelines that includes the assessment, planning, and organizing of treatment plans and participation in research protocols to address these issues.

• Provide support to the Clinical Investigation Program (CIP) including but not limited to, knowledge management and communication activities, recruitment, randomization, data collection, tracking, interviews, follow-up and technical reports necessary to conduct research studies in accordance with approved protocols, and applicable Air Force, Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veterans Affairs and Federal Regulations while promoting the safety, welfare, and confidentiality of research subjects and ensuring the integrity of data at all times.

• Deliver individualized integrative medicine therapies to patients, which is tailored to their needs; abiding by and performing specific integrative medicine therapies as outlined in any given clinical research protocol. 

• Record treatment and procedures rendered, observe effects, and complete accurate and timely documentation.

• Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with co-workers, families, peers and other team members.

• Adhere to infection control procedures including use of personal protective equipment, disposal of waste and aseptic technique.

• Maintain patient medical records; prepare and submit administrative reports.

• Participate in in-service training and continuing education programs for new procedures, techniques and equipment.

• Provide training related to patient care (especially integrative medicine modalities) to staff including staff from other DoD clinics and facilities. 

• Provide clinical research support to include recruitment, randomization, data collection, tracking, interview, and follow-up necessary to conduct research studies.

• Administers investigational medications and/or treatments and performs patient assessments during clinic visits to determine presence of side effects; notifies Principal Investigator of findings/issues. Recommends corrective action as appropriate.

• Provides patient education and medical information to study patients to ensure understanding of proper dosage, administration, and treatment.

• Provide administrative support to include the collection, compilation, and documentation of research data, in accordance with the details outlined in the research protocol for a given study and in according with HIPAA guidelines.

• Assist Principal Investigator in identifying recommended protocol changes as needed. 

Requirements Include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred or RN degree and 2 years healthcare related field experience or experience in human research, development, testing, and evaluation (within the last five years).

• Must have current Human Subject Research Protection training Office of the Under Secretary of Defense “Personnel and Readiness” within 15 days of hire.

• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 15 days of hire.

• Experience with Integrative Medicine modalities such as frequency specific microcurrent, Avazzia, Battlefield Acupuncture, low level laser therapy, preferred.

• Superb organization skills; must be detail oriented and able to work independently following a brief period of specific technical training.

• Refined interpersonal and communication skills.

• Experience working within the Military Healthcare System preferred.

• Ability to undergo a background investigation which requires U.S. Citizenship.

• Possesses geocoding and linear referencing skills that involve data compilation and editing to build significant portions of their GIS datasets. 

• Experience using data automation and applying tools and techniques that help ensure data integrity during editing. 

• Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving GIS application problems 

• Planning and designing analytic procedures and methodologies 

• Identifying and defining appropriate applications of the system and associated GIS products 

• Communicating with internal and external technical resources to resolve issues and providing guidance to users on methods for correcting reported problems

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in an organization with established processes (CMMI, ISO, Agile), including established configuration management practices.

• Experience planning and communicating specific work tasks for database creation and management, application development, and ongoing maintenance

• Experience creating and editing feature geometry and attributes and solve common data alignment issues 

• Experience digitizing and editing geographic features to maintain spatial relationships using topology
