We currently have an excellent opportunity for a front end professional who is dedicated to developing web and mobile applications that merge business goals with user needs!  Working throughout the lifecycle, the Front End Developer will have a hands-on role to ensure the successful development of a usable, effective solution that meets the business goals.

A successful Front End Developer:

  • Is able to proactively communicate and collaborate with management, Information Architect, and a team of front-end and back-end developers to understand the approach and identify/resolve conflict between usability and performance needs.
  • Confidently translates requirements and/or abstract conceptual ideas into quality mockups and prototypes with inventive visual user interfaces and interactive features using the JavaScript library React. 
  • Innately and passionately understands user-centered design and usability best-practices. 
  • Researches latest trends, methods and tools used in the industry.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of various Web technologies, both front-end and back-end, and Section 508 guidelines to ensure solutions are technically feasible and accessible. Understands how interfaces integrate with dynamic, Web-based applications to optimize the application for speed and troubleshoot the application across browsers and devices. 
  • Expertly utilizes HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, AdobeXD, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator to create deliverables. Adeptly develops HTML or XHTML templates, CSS files and necessary image assets that meet Section 508 guidelines, and Xamarin apps across different platforms for iOS, Android, and Windows. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code quality is exceptional, semantically correct and easily scalable. 
  • Is detail-oriented with strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. 
  • Has the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with minimal supervision.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team environment, but is just as comfortable working independently. 

Position requirements include:

  • A minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. 
  • Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, JSX, and related frameworks

• Align the technical efforts of the program with business operations

• Support requirements analysis and program management support efforts for our application solution which is comprised of 4 major functions: desktop, mobile, services, and analytics  

• Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements

• Facilitate sessions with business stakeholders to elicit feedback in order to design and document training guides, business requirements, business rules, user manuals and analytics 

• Track and coordinate functional specifications and requirements for all design, development, and adoption activities

• Actively participate in customer meetings to support the solutions outlined in the project roadmap and milestone schedule

• Analyze requirements for completeness, ensuring concise, feasible, linkage and complete documentation of interdependency the design, development, and deployment tasks

• Develop training documentation and user manuals to support the successful implementation of technical solutions 

• Report on common technical issues and make recommendations for improvement to the product team

• Serve as expert advisor on challenges of distributed systems and ability to make recommendations for improvement

• Perform ad hoc assignments from client including pulling data, providing analysis, covering meetings, starting new projects, and serving as a lead on specific efforts

• Ensure that necessary documentation is maintained in an appropriate manner

• Participate in all phases of risk management assessments 

Requirements Include:

• BA and 5+ years of hands-on experience in Web, Mobile, and API testing

• Advise senior DHMS leaders on legislative strategies and tactics to promote DHMS and its mission to Congress
